In Arras, if you like books, but also audio and music (with the media libraries), you have three places where you can benefit from loans. Spread over three sectors, the libraries open to the public are stocked with a wide range of general literature, as long as you have a library card. Of course, for more scientific and student literature, visit the Alain Lottin University Library at the Université d’Artois.

The large central media library of the Palais Saint Vaast

Adjacent to and open to the Musée des Beaux-Arts, the mediatheque is one of Arrage’s most popular cultural venues. The environmental setting is ideal for study, and there are dedicated rooms for readers and researchers. The town’s historical archives are also located on the top floor, providing access to documents on local history and heritage.

Particularly geared to young audiences, this library is located next to a small playground (Square Meric). A number of nearby schools, including the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Sainte Croix private school and the Pierre Curie elementary school (and the Marie Curie secondary school), also benefit from the library. ronville library

The surrounding towns within the CUA also offer similar cultural facilities. In Achicourt, for example, you’ll find a toy and media library on rue de Roubaix, next to the Tournesol swimming pool. There’s also the Louise MICHEL library in Beaurains, on avenue des Alpes at the entrance to the Centre Social Municipal Chico Mendès, the Chanteclair multimedia library in Saint-Nicolas (Espace Chanteclair, 33 place Chanteclair), and the Jean-Paul Fleurquin multimedia library in Saint Laurent Blangy, next to the water sports center.
