More about Alfred Torchy

Alfred Torchy, born on July 12, 1904 in Arras (Pas-de-Calais), was the son of a miner. In 1934, he held the post of Treasury clerk and was secretary of the CGT union of direct tax employees in Arras, which at the time had 75 members. Alfred Torchy died on August 6, 1989 in his home town, although the Centre Social had been founded a few months earlier, on February 1, 1989.
